Org. : Colorado SuperNet, Inc. Eric Scott Boltz writes: There was yet another accident in Eldo yesterday...sorry I don't have the details, but I heard that a woman took a grounder. She took a grounder, all right. This was NOT a climbing accident. The woman was hiking/scrambling with her friends high in the Wind Tower gully. She fell off about 50 ft. below the rappel bolts in the notch on the regular descent from Wind Ridge. This was serious stuff: a 20-25 ft. fall, lots of trauma, a punctured lung, etc. Help arrived almost immediately in the form of a well-known local, Steve Levin, who just happened to be descending from a romp up Wind Ridge. Rangers and RMR were quickly on the scene, and the rescue went smoothly, though was considered a "hurry up" because breathing problems were obvious. I watched all of this from the base of Blackwalk and BackTalk, and it was not pleasant. Ray Snead Boulder, Colorado ------------------------------------
