CTL Region - 07 Mar - RCMP requested assistance of Kamloops SAR to search for a brother and sister, Clint and Meaghen Shelefontiuk aged 21 and 18, overdue in Batchelor Hills area, 2 miles northwest of Kamloops. 6 SAR volunteers and 3 vehicles were used. At 0537 the search was put on hold until daylight. An RCMP helicopter was used to continue search. At 0750 the two people were located safe and well by RCMP helicopter. They were at Paul Lake, on the other side of the river from where they were reported to have been. 2. SCO Region - 07 Mar - 15 members of Squamish SAR responded to search for 4 year old boy missing in the Fergie Lodge area 13 km north of Squamish. The search was stood down just as the search team arrived on the scene. Child was located by family after three previous searches of the house had failed. Child was hiding under a blanket behind a door. 3. VIS Region - 10 Mar - Campbell River SAR had 10 volunteers respond to conduct a shoreline search after a report of an overturned boat near Shelter Point was received by RCMP. On arrival at the scene they determined that the overturned boat was in fact a piece of driftwood. 4. OKN Region - 12 Mar - 15 Summerland SAR members have responded to assist in rescue of occupant(s), if any, from a vehicle that has gone into Okanagan Lake. Search is continuing. Floods: There have been several minor floods in the Trail/Nelson area after the storm of 11 Mar. Weather: On 10 Mar. a Reception Centre was set up at Lake Cowichan to assist and feed local citizens after a storm, with very high winds, caused power outages and damaged homes in the area.
