On Saturday, April 11 at 0130,ESAR Post 393 was notified of a mission to
locate a despondent 29 year old lady who had ingested up to 22
anti-depressants and fled into a wooded area in a rural section of
northern Pulaski County, AR. ESAR and Canine Special Forces personnel
were then called out.

Upon arrival on-scene ESAR Operations was established and an initial
hasty search was being performed by two K-9 teams, deputies, and
personnel from the local volunteer fire department. A Lost Person
Questionaire interview was completed with the woman's husband. A sole
print sketch and scent articles were secured for searchers. A FLIR and
Night Sun equipped helicopter was called to the scene as well as
additional SAR personnel.

SAR K-9 teams picked up the subjects trail and determined that she was
located near a pond approximately 1/4th of a mile from the LKP. It was
determined through tracking that she had not entered the pond. The
surrounding vegatation was thick, which hindered progress in the
immediate area. SAR personnel, K-9s, and the helicopter concentrated the
search to the area near the pond. 

At approximately 0300 the subject was located by a deputy and a SAR team
member. She ran from them and was pursued until caught by the deputy.
She was very combative and had to be restrained and carried out of the
woods. She was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital. 

All searchers were recalled and the mission was suspended. All enroute
SAR personnel were called off. 

Agencies and SAR Teams that participated were: Explorer Search and
Rescue Post 393, Canine Special Forces, Pulaski County Sheriff's
Department, Metropolitan Emergency Medical Service, Little Rock Police
Department Aviation Section, and North Pulaski Volunteer Fire
Department.
