I am in Michigan.  There was no coverage here, but there was an article
about it in clari.news.trouble.  However, I'd heard about it through
different channels.

Lisa Hannon, who died Tuesday morning returning from the search, was a
friend of mine; I am an ex-chair of Blue Ridge Mtn Rescue, member for about
six years, and an active IC with the ASRC for about four of those years;
ASRC folks called me on Thursday to tell me what had happened.  In my
active time, I probably responded to over 50 searches, and some of them
have gone poorly; but I have never been so depressed.

I hope the prayers of the emergency services community are with this
volunteer, who spent hundreds of hours a year in volunteer wilderness search
and rescue, and who lost her life returning from her efforts to save another.
