Subject : Scottish avalanche forecasts start today

This is to annouce the start up for the second year of the daily Scottish
avalanche forecast on the net.  Each day for the next 4 months there will be
an avalanche forecast for three of the main Scottish winter climbing areas,
namely Glen Coe, Cairngorm, & Lochaber.

The forecasts are available from an email server and WWW.

For email, send a message to 'avalanche@dcs.gla.ac.uk' and the latest forecast
will be sent back to you.

For WWW, connect to 'http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/other/avalanche/'.


I'm also aiming to post the forecast to the newsgroup 'uk.rec.climbing', this
isn't working yet as we are having some problems with our news system at the
moment.
