Aquatics Safety & Water Rescue Services

Lifesaving Resources, Inc., provides a variety of services to Fire, Rescue,
Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, and other Public Safety agencies in the
area of Aquatics Safety & Water Rescue.

The company was established in 1984 by Gerald Dworkin in Houston, TX and
the company moved to Northern Virginia in 1985.  Dworkin has published
numerous articles and several textbooks, and has consulted on numerous
drowning and aquatic injury litigation cases.  Dworkin has presented
courses and seminars to Fire, Rescue, EMS, and Recreation organizations
throughout the country and has appeared on CNN, as well as numerous radio
and television news broadcasts.

The services provided by Lifesaving Resources are threefold and fall within
the areas of Training, Consulting, and Equipment Sales.

Training Programs

Lifesaving Resources has developed numerous training curriculums and
conducts Aquatics Safety and Water Rescue Training programs for Fire,
Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Lifeguard organizations.

Level 3: Water Rescue Technician Course
The Level 3 Water Rescue Technician Course is an 8-hour course designed to
provide Public Safety and Rescue personnel with a foundation of water
safety and rescue knowledge and skills.  This comprehensive course includes
a 3.5 hour classroom session, followed by a 4.5 hour practical session and
includes training in; Shore-based Rescues, Personal Survival, Cold Water
Rescue and Survival, Ice Rescue and Survival, Swiftwater Rescue and
Survival, Management of Spinal Injuries, Advanced Water Rescue, Incident
Command.

Level 4:  Swiftwater Rescue Technician Course
The Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Technician Course is a 24-hour course
designed to provide Public Safety and Rescue personnel with an intensive
program in Water Rescue and Survival with an emphasis on Swiftwater
applications.  This comprehensive course includes the Level 3 curriculum,
plus an additional 3-hour classroom session, a 3-hour skill screening and
pool session, and an additional 10-hours of practical Swiftwater skills
training.

Aquatic Emergencies Seminar
The Aquatic Emergencies Seminar is a comprehensive educational program
intended to supplement certificated Lifeguard Training, Pool Operator, and
other professional recreation and aquatic programs and is designed for the
Aquatics and Recreation professional, including Lifeguard Instructors and
Supervisors, Aquatic Facility Managers, and Lifeguard Personnel.  This
6-hour seminar includes information on; Physiology of Drowning, Risk
Management and Accident Prevention, Legal Liability, Standard of Care,
Facility Management, Lifeguard Operations, Prevention and Management of
Spinal Injuries, Innovations in Safety & Rescue Equipment, Protection from
Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency Resuscitation and Oxygen Administration.

Consulting Services

Gerald Dworkin consults as an Expert Witness to attorneys engaged in
drowning and aquatic-injury litigation cases.  In addition, he has
consulted in the production and development of numerous textbooks,
instructional videotapes, and products for the Aquatics Safety, Water
Rescue, and EMS industry.

Equipment Sales

Lifesaving Resources is a manufacturer and distributor of specialized
equipment used for training and rescue operations including; Spinal
Immobilization Systems & Rescue Buoys, Tubes and Throw Bags, Personal
Flotation Devices (PFDs), WetSuits and DrySuits, Oxygen Administration and
Emergency Resuscitation Equipment, Flashlights and Emergency Lights,
Bloodborne Pathogen Protection Equipment, EMS Equipment.
